rise | visual effects berlin has created digital magic for more than 42 feature films - becoming the biggest vendor for vfx in berlin in less then two years since it's foundation with space for up to 60 artists. in january 2010 a second facility, rise | visual effects cologne, opened it's doors to provide film productions in north rhine-westphalia with world class vfx next door.

managing directors Sven Pannicke and Robert Pinnow teamed up with visual effects supervisors Markus Degen and Florian Gellinger in early 2007 to open their own facility utilising their combined expertise and working towards becoming widely recognised for their quality work. rise has quickly become a melting pot for artistic ideas and has pushed the limits of technology almost with every new project. the concept of artist driven visual effects is key to building a working environment where directors like to stick around a little longer, artists try a little harder, shots are solved a little more elaborately and, in the end, everybody shares the same passion for film.

many of our artists have worked around the world. what they enjoy most about working at rise, is to be able to create outstanding work in an environment which is relaxed and fun and inspires to be daring. rise offers directors and producers guidance to fit the most outstanding visual effects into any budgets using state-of-the-art technology and software.

the facility is located directly in the heart of berlin, in the district kreuzberg at the bank of the river spree. there is even a boats pier if you prefer to come by water!
